The rapid transformations of modern socio-economic systems pose serious challenges to the realms of policy and academia. Keeping pace on both fronts entails deep and up-to-date understanding of how Science, Technology and Innovation work in a variety of contexts such as firms, industries, regions and national systems. No doubt, future generations of scientists are society’s best hope to continue chasing the shifting frontier of knowledge. In line with its commitment to this social mission, INGENIO is pleased to announce the 2013 INGENIO PhD Days , a two-day event aimed at providing an enriching experience to doctoral students working on:

  • Geography and innovation
  • Dynamics of science
  • STI policies
  • Knowledge generation, management and diffusion
  • Innovation networks
  • Determinants and barriers of innovation at the firm-level.

The 2013 INGENIO PhD Days will offer a platform for international networking to aspiring academic researchers. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their research projects, to receive feedback from international experts and to engage an open debate with peer doctoral students from around the world. The event will stretch over two days. The first will focus on practical advice for a successful academic career. Participants will hear directly from distinguished scholars who will share their experiences on the diffusion of research through conferences, journals and other outlets; on the pursuit of external funding and grant opportunities; and on keeping pace with trending topics and research methods. During the second day attendees will present their research projects in specifically tailored sessions chaired by experienced senior researchers who will lead the debate and provide individual feedback.

At the end of the event, a prize will be awarded to the most innovative and promising work presented during the 2013 INGENIO PhD Days.
