WOMI'15 - Workshop on Medical Innovation - INGENIO, December 2015

We are a research network of scholars from different European countries working on medical innovation studies and entrepreneurship in life sciences. Our day to day work on these topics is shared among us in a frequently way, but we meet all together at least once a year to provide feedback and insights on each other’s research, and to contribute to an enriching and thrilling scholarly discussion on innovation studies in both the biomedical and healthcare sectors.

Our first meeting took place in Madrid April 2013 at the EU-SPRI Forum Conference “The management of innovation policies”. The general topic of this meeting was “Research and innovation in the life sciences”. Our second meeting’s general topic was “The Role of Hospitals in Innovation” and took place in the Center for Technology, Innovation and Culture at the University of Oslo in December 2013. A year later (December 2014), we met again to explore issues related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health Care & Life Sciences”. This time we met in the Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Gothenburg.

Our fourth meeting will take place in Valencia at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) December 2015 (read below for more details).

We aim to have further meetings and to strengthen this scholarly network doing research on biomedical and healthcare innovation.
