Volkan Isik is an Associate Professor, Ph.D. at Hacettepe University in Turkiye.
He has completed his MBA in 2008 and Ph.D. degrees in 2016 at Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations in Gazi University, Turkiye. During his MBA and Ph.D. he has worked as a Research Assistant at Gazi University.
In 2011, he has selected as a scholarship student for the "Migration and Labour in the Global Economy" training programme organised by the REMESO Institute for Migration, Ethnicity and Society at Linköping University, Sweden.
After his Ph.D., he has worked as an Assistant Professor at Department of Business Administration in Aksaray University, Turkiye between 2017-2018, and as a guest lecturer at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University between 2018-2019.
He has worked in many researches and EU projects in the fields of labour market problems, social policy, social entrepreneurship and NGOs. He received the title of Associate Professor in the field of social policy in 2021.
Isik, has been working at Hacettepe University since 2019. In 2023, he was awarded a Tübitak scholarship to conduct Post-Doc research at Valencia Polytechnic University in Spain for the development of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. He is currently at Ingenio-UPV in Valencia as a post-doctoral researcher on the social entrepreneurship ecosystem under the supervision of Dr. Jose David Barbera Tomas.
