Assesing social impacts of research through productive interactions between science and society (SANDERA)

SANDERA will focus on the future relationship between two critical European policy domains: namely, the EU strategy since Lisbon to move towards the European Research Area and those EU policies focused on the security of the European citizen in the world.

The objectives of the project are:1-To identify drivers of change in the relationship between security and defence policies and the ERA

2-To develop exploratory scenarios of alternative futures of the relationship between security policy and the ERA

Social impacts Assessment Methods for research and funding instruments through the study of Productive Interactions between science and society (SIAMPI)

The objectives of the project are to:

1. Identify productive interactions between researchers and society in four fields (nanotechnology, health, ICT and social sciences) that are funded within the Framework Program and in national contexts. For each of these fields we will analyse the range of expected and actual social impacts, and the interactions through which these impacts are realised.

2. Improve our understanding of the necessity of productive interactions as a condition for research to have a social impact.
