Jordi Molas and Alejandra Boni will lead a participatory session about the evaluation of Transformative Innovation Policies

21/06/2021

Jordi Molas and Alejandra Boni, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s director and deputy director, will lead a participatory session about the evaluation of Transformative Innovation Policies. The event will start at 15:00 (CEST) and will be online. Previous registration needed.

In this session, Molas and Boni will talk about Transformative Innovation Policies (TIPs), policies that assert that addressing the key challenges currently facing our societies requires profound changes in current socio-technical systems. To leverage such ‘socio-technical transitions’ calls for a different, broad mix of research and innovation policies, with particular attention being paid to experimentation.

How can we evaluate these policy experiments with a narrow geographical and temporal scope, when the final objective is ambitiously systemic? How can we know whether a specific set of policy experiments is contributing to systemic transformation? Drawing on the practical experiences of addressing these challenges within the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC) – and on the concept of Transformative Outcomes – this session presents a formative approach to the evaluation of TIPs that is operational and adaptable to different context

This participatory session is part of TIPC’s (Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium) Open Learning Series, an event that provides spaces for those working on transformative policy approaches around the world to refresh their knowledge, learn and connect with other researchers.
