Current position
Adrián is a Research Fellow at INGENIO, a joint research institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). He is currently the Principal Investigator of the SciCoMetrics project funded by the Spanish R&D Plan and a member of the research team of the PROSECON project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. He is also visiting researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University.

Training
He has a multidisciplinary background, with a PhD and MSc in Applied Multivariate Statistics from the University of Salamanca. He also obtained a BA in Library and Information Science.

Experience
He is a social scientist with strong expertise in scientometrics and the analysis of social networks, contributing to three broad areas: science policy, research evaluation, and innovation studies.

He was a Postdoctoral Researcher, under the highly competitive programmes Juan de la Cierva Incorporación and Juan de la Cierva Formación, at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV). Prior to joining INGENIO, he was awarded a PhD fellowship (JAE predoc) at the Centre for Human and Social Sciences (CCHS) at CSIC in Madrid, where he conducted his doctoral dissertation under the guidance of Professor María Bordons and was a Research Assistant at the Department of Statistics at the University of Salamanca. Besides, he has been a visiting fellow at CWTS at Leiden University, Imperial College Business School, and the University of Copenhagen. In between academic positions, he worked at the Office for General Statistics and Studies, an agency under the Spanish Ministry of Education.

His work has been published in leading journals in scientometrics and innovation studies such as Research Policy, JASIST, Journal of Informetrics, PLOS ONE, Scientometrics, and Research Evaluation.
